Announcement: 2026 Leadership Transition

Dear Friends,

After nearly six amazing years with Shadow Puppetz–including four as Executive Director–I am writing to share that I will be stepping down from my role on May 18. This was an incredibly difficult decision, made after a great deal of reflection, and ultimately for personal reasons.

This community has meant so much to me. I have dedicated many years of my life in service of our mission–building alongside you all and helping create systems and infrastructure for the next generation of dancers to grow into. While the work is far from complete, I am comforted knowing that I am leaving it in very capable hands. Alex “Prototype” Malblanc, Co-Founder of Shadow Puppetz, will be stepping into this role.

I know this may come as a surprise to many. With the close of our fifth anniversary of Out of the Shadows, it felt like the most honest and aligned moment to take a step back–allowing myself the space to rest, focus on my health and well-being, and reconnect with who I am outside of dance. 

That said, if you have any questions during this period of transition, I welcome you to reach out to me personally. I also hope you’ll join me in celebrating the close of this chapter at Out of the Shadows, May 7-10–it would mean a lot to share that space with you.

I carry so much gratitude for the experiences, opportunities, and memories we’ve created together. Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for being such an important part of my life over the years.
